The "Bath, Book, Bed" routine was popularized by Dr. Harvey Karp, a pediatrician and child development expert. But what if your child doesn’t like to read? Try these tips to make story time enjoyable:

  1. Pick a book that matches their interests—dinosaurs, trucks, princesses, whatever excites them!

  2. Try an interactive book, like a lift-the-flap or touch-and-feel book, to keep them engaged.

  3. Make it musical! Choose a book you can sing instead of read.

  4. Take it slow—start with just one page the first week. The next week, try two pages, gradually building up to a full book.

  5. Embrace repetition! Reading the same book every night for a month is great for language development.
