Easter egg hunts are the perfect opportunity to build vocabulary, practice following directions, and connect through play. Sprinkle in some language modeling while your toddler explores! Try simple phrases like:

  • "Pick up egg!"

  • "Put in basket."

  • "I see yellow!"

  • "Open the egg."

  • "What's inside?"

  • "You found it!"

Simple phrases paired with modeling in the moment helps to facilitate language development. If your child doesn’t follow the direction, that’s okay—just model what you wanted them to do. They’re learning by watching and listening. Keep it light and fun—kids feed off your energy!
